Edith M. Weisz, age 84, of Yankton, SD passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Yankton, SD with Rev. Dave Gunderson officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be at approximately 2:15 PM Thursday afternoon at Grace Hill Cemetery, Tripp, SD. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, SD is assisting with service details. Edith Munkvold was born on September 4, 1930 on the family farm southeast of Menno, SD to Ed and Marie (Gran) Munkvold. At the age of 17, she married Floyd C. Weisz from the Kaylor area and recently, June 25, 2015, they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. During her lifetime Edith was a farm wife, nurse's aide, Avon and Tupperware representative. She also helped her husband haul water and drive a semi hauling livestock. Edith enjoyed fishing, cross stitch, word search books and she made the best dill pickles ever. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Floyd; daughters, Lois (Larry) Faller of Clarkfield, MN and Deborah (Donald) Pederson of Viborg, SD; four grandsons: Myron (Stephanie) Faller and family, Eric (Christine) Faller, all of Clarkfield, MN, Mark (Jeannie Lawler) Pederson and family of Sioux City, IA and Terry (Carrie) Pederson and family of Sioux Falls, SD; three brothers: Roy of Scotland, SD, Edward (Helen) of Menno, SD and Oliver (Jeanette) of Lesterville, SD; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; five sisters: Alice Evenson of Yankton, SD, Audrey Holupka of Tyndall, SD, Iona (Elmer) Fischer of Yankton, SD, Joyce (Kenny) Kloucek of Scotland, SD and Connie (John) Knodel of Menno, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, three brothers, 1 sister, 1 granddaughter, Angela Faller and one son, Randall LeRoy.
