I’ve known Deena since she was a little girl when I was married to her uncle Kenny. Is was always such a sweet soul..later in life we we friends and talked often. I will miss our conversations.. I bet she is enjoying time and catching up with her Papa and Mom.
All who knew her will always remember her, she was that kind of person. Now she is an angel with our Lord. Love you Deena.

I met Deena through her sister Holly. Our friendship blossomed over the years. Deena was a true friend that even time could not get in the way. Every time we ran into each other around Yankton time stood still until we reflected on our lives. We always took time for each other with a promise to get together soon. Deena believed in God. Her faith was strong. She looked forward to the day she would meet her parents again and shared how she missed them. It gives me comfort knowing she is singing and dancing with them once again. My memories that are too many to share will be cherished in my heart forever until we meet again.

Deepest sympathies to the Family. We have lost an earth Angel. I am heartbroken. But we now have a Heavenly Angel watching over us and our beloved fur babies. I’d say rest in peace but if you know Deena she is not resting. She is tending the gardens and playing with all the pets. Deena had a zeal for life and all the beauty it contained.She will forever be in our hearts. Cherished and remembered. I love you Deena!

Deena,
I will always cherish many memories since I was little with you and mom at your parents farm. Your love for your animals I remember Fozzy the best. You were my mom's best friend for life, and now forever in heaven together. I bet you got some good stuff to tell her. I will always love your sense of style, your hair up high, biker shorts, a long sleeve or short with a fuzzy vest on top, your socks scrunched down with your tennis shoes lol. I will always remember how you would have big smile when I seen you and said hey Tosh love ya girl, I will never forget your laugh or voice. You always made it out and decorated mom's grave btw you and I were the only ones who did. She loved you and your friendship and I know it went both ways. I'll also never forget your love for plants it was like a jungle in your house lol and how you loved to sing karaoke. I will miss you dearly and love you always. RIP and don't forget to tell my mom hi and how much I miss and love her too. Until we see each other again.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Deena?
A: Deena and I never met in person but became close via Facebook. I will miss this vivacious lady who loved her rock music and fur babies in equal measure. My condolences to her family. May she rest in eternal peace.

I initially met Deena when she watched our dogs while we were gone on vacations. She was very kind, and loving. She cared deeply for the animals she met and treated them like they were her own. She was generous and giving. I am grateful to have known Deena and will miss her smile.

I remember Deena when she was in my 6th grade class at Beadle School. She was always happy, sense of humor and always willing to help others. She was a bright spirit...... Deena had a friend in Tricia Block... They loved horses so much. One time, I was surprised to see both of them, on horseback,, at my front door, on Douglas Street!!!!!! They were just riding around and wanted to stop and say, "Hi." Deena will be missed! We need more happy spirits to cheer others..

I met Deena when I moved to Yankton - she came to my door to sell Avon. We became friends, and over the next several years we had many adventures. She had a sense of humor that would crack me up, and a heart of gold. I was so sad to hear of her passing. God speed, Deena, and my sincere condolences to family and friends. Another good one, taken too soon.

Miss. Deena was the kindest soul I have ever met. She would do about anything to help anybody she was near. Even if it was just her beautiful smile. She could brighten any room. Deena was an amazing lady with a heart of gold. Always willing to help others. Her knowledge of plants & flowers was incredible. A funny memory that happened not too long ago...Deena found HUGE multi-colored roses at HyVee & posted a picture on FB. I decided to surprise her and left a bouquet on her porch as she wasn't home. I got in my car and got a text from her saying, "I see you"!! Such a fun lady. The world lost a GREAT one!!
