Obituary of Luella W. Heer
Luella Heer, daughter of Emanuel and Emma (Zeeb) Herrboldt, was born on June 27, 1918 on a farm southeast of Menno, SD. She attended country school through 8th grade. She was baptized as an infant in the Ebenezer Reformed Church and confirmed in the Salem Reformed Church. Luella was united in marriage to Ewald W. Aisenbrey on March 16, 1941 and they moved to Menno.
Luella’s husband was in the Army and they lived in Chicago, California and Tampa, Florida. While living in Florida, Luella gave birth to twin daughters. They moved back to Menno after Ewald completed his Army service.
Luella was a wonderful homemaker who loved cooking, baking and taking care of her family. She loved to entertain friends and family with dinner parties. Luella’s home was always filled with love and flowers.
Ewald passed away on June 7, 1965. On January 7, 1979 Luella married LeRoy Heer of Menno, SD. They enjoyed dancing and watching pro basketball, especially the Boston Celtics. LeRoy passed away October of 2010. Luella moved to the Menno Olivet Care Center in her later years. While there, she enjoyed taking part in many activities. She especially enjoyed playing pinochle.
Luella is survived by her daughter, Marie (Alan) Rames of White Bear Lake, MN; granddaughters, Lisa (Steve) Sellner of Lino Lakes, MN and Nicole (Todd) VandeBerg of Arden Hills, MN; great-grandchildren, Allyson and Ryan Sellner, Taylor and Tanner VandeBerg, many nieces and nephews, friends and relatives.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, baby daughter, Louise Ellen Aisenbrey; husbands, Ewald and LeRoy; brothers, Reuben, Edmund (Dick) and Filmore Herrboldt and sisters: Viola Handel, Alitha Quast and Violet Diede.
