Agnes L. Hagen, age 93, of Yankton, SD passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Agnes was born in rural Volin, SD to Ludvig and Helga (Hanson) Larson on November 16, 1923. Her family moved to Rapid City, SD where she attended Cleghorn Grade School and Rapid City Central High. After graduating, she attended business college before working as a secretary for the Civil Service, Selective Services Branch. Agnes married Rudy Dobesh, Sr. on January 19, 1946. To this union, 2 sons and 2 daughters were born. After residing in Tyndall, SD for a short time, they settled in Wagner, SD, where she helped run Dobesh Produce until Rudy's passing in 1972. She also worked at Rivins IGA and Buches Food. On April 6, 1974, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Hagen. They resided on Ken's farm where she was Ken's helper and a homemaker. She was very active in Trondhjem Lutheran Church. They retired in 1987 and moved to Yankton, SD. You rarely saw one of them without the other, always holding hands. Theirs was a love story for the ages. Agnes had been a long time member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader, loved working crossword puzzles and enjoyed watching sports on TV. Her life revolved around her family. She would always greet you with her twinkling blue eyes, beautiful smile and open arms. Agnes is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Ken Hagen; son, Rudy Dobesh, Jr.; daughter, Jill Perk, all of Yankton, SD. Grandchildren: Jeff (Danica) Dobesh of Durango, CO, Kristin McKeever of Chesterfield, VA, and Jennifer (Luke) Rahe of Lismore, MN. Great-grandchildren: Hannah, Micah, Carter, Riley, Chris, Nathan, Andy, Joe, Jack; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, son, Alan Dobesh, daughter, Susan Dobesh, brothers, Maurice and Allen Larson, sisters Harriett Larson and Natalie Dawson. Honorary urn bearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Ken Hagen & Family, 2015 Green Street, Apt. 116, Yankton, SD 57078.
