Obituary of Robert N. Collett

Robert was born August 11, 1941 to Sherman and Bernice (Van Osdel) Collett and was raised in Gayville, SD. Robert earned numerous badges as a Boy Scout. He graduated from Gayville High School in 1959 as Valedictorian of his class. He earned a B.A. degree from USD in 1971. He worked various jobs, with his latest places of employment being for the State of Iowa, State of South Dakota and as a Counselor in Rochester, MN. On January 29, 1962, Robert married Judy Vitek to which three children were born: Terri, Allan and Michael; later Robert married Betty Redleaf. Robert enjoyed playing cards and various sports but especially playing basketball. Robert lived with his daughter, Terri and her family in Roland, IA before entering Zearing Health Care Center where he spent the last year and a half. He is survived by his children: Terri (Dan) Rusher of Roland, IA, Allan Collett of Des Moines, IA, Michael (Sonya) Collett of Sioux City, IA and Jason Van Loh of Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren: Dustin (Christina) Rusher, Dylan, Taylor and Dakota Rusher, Alyssa and Haden Collett, and Desyrae Van Loh; sisters, Lora Yahnke and Leila Draper and brother, Paul (Eleanor) Collett.
