Obituary of Betty Jean Jensen

Betty was born August 23, 1933 in a farm house near Scotland, SD to Perry and Lena (Hewer) Roach. She lived in rural Utica area and attended eight years at Klimish School and four years at Yankton High School, graduating in 1951. She married Robert Jensen on August 11, 1951 in Malad, ID. Betty attended three months of college in Logan, UT, worked for I.R.S for eight months and returned to Yankton in 1961 to help run the family business of Jensen’s Steel & Pipe until 2002. They lived near Mission Hill for 33 years and moved to Yankton in 2005. Betty is survived by her husband, Robert Jensen of Yankton, SD; her four children: Steven (Sheila) Jensen of Escondido, CA, Randy (Bonnie) Jensen of Mission Hill, SD, Jean Jensen of Yankton, SD and Karen (Tom) Thorson of Mission Hill, SD and grandchildren: Zach (Chelsea), Steve (Tina), Kerie (Jeff), Chris (Kelly), Joe, Sarah, Matt, Erica (John) and John. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Earl Roach and sister, Doreen Crider.
