In Loving Memory of Janice Kay Fejfar
August 16, 1948 – June 8, 2025
With full hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Jan Fejfar, who left this world on June 8th, surrounded by family.
Jan was born in Lesterville, SD, to Gab and Evelyn (Wagner) Borszich. She grew up surrounded by family and faith that would shape her for a lifetime. In 1969, Jan married Joe Fejfar and together, they built a life full of love. They began their journey in Apple Valley, MN, where they raised their two children. In 1987, the family relocated to Kansas City, which has remained home ever since.
A devoted Catholic, Jan’s faith gave her strength, guided her choices, and offered her peace. She would strike up a conversation with anyone and always made time to listen and make space for your story. She loved to travel and see the world and explored 6 continents. She found joy in reading a good book, tending her flower garden, or spending time at the slots. But her greatest joy came from spending time with friends and family. Many will remember the countless late nights spent around the table—playing cards, sharing stories, and laughing until tears came.
We are grateful for her life, and we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Gab & Evelyn Borszich and sister, Rose Vlasak. Survivors include her husband, Joe Fejfar; son, Chris Fejfar; daughter, Nicole Fejfar; grandson, Nathan Fejfar; siblings, Mary Schenkel, Carol Erlandson, Bob Borszich, Jean Lapour, and Donna Diede; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
