Obituary of Elisabeth Coles
Coles Elisabeth
Elisabeth Coles, 97 passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on June 12, 2025. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Elisabeth grew up in Vienna, Austria and came to the United States as a young adult, but she always kept the longing for her homeland and family close to her heart. She loved and was very passionate about her culture, ballet, opera, drawing, music, and anything and everything to do with the arts. She was a very talented artist and won many awards for her work. Her home is filled with reminders of her family and her past, of which she was always so proud. She had a true love of learning, and spent much time expanding her knowledge. All who knew her will remember her as a poised and elegant, beautiful woman inside and out.
The phrase “Grandma will have it” was a common phrase for Elisabeth’s family, as she had a love of collecting unique antiques. If anyone needed help with a school project or costume, Grandma was the one to go to.
She is survived by four living children, Sylvan (Katrin), Gina (Mike Ondrusek), and Shawn Coles, and Scarlett (Kraig) McNeely, her grandchildren, Dustin, Darcy, Brandt, Tara, Aaron, Max, Sam, Jade, Aria and Alivia, as well as 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Proceeding her in death are her dear twin brother Peter, who died at 17 in World War II, son, Dean, who took part of her heart with him when he died at 37, her eldest daughter, Natalie, as well as her mother and father.
Her family will always remember her teachings of unconditional love and gratitude for what we have, and empathy and compassion for others. She will forever be loved and missed.
