Obituary of Pam Bonertz
BONERTZ PAMELA
Pamela Yvonne Bonertz, age 71 of Yankton, SD passed away Sunday, November 03, 2019 at her residence under hospice care after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia. Pallbearers are her grandchildren: Josh Koch, Skye Strike, Tyler Highland, Megan Highland, Alex Esser, Kayli Esser, Cole Schieffer and great-grandchildren, Sawyer Koch and Eden Strike
Pamela was born June 13, 1948 in Lesterville, SD to Melvin and Lillian (Mueller) Kline. Pam grew up in Tabor where she graduated high school in 1966. Soon after she met and married Bernie Esser, they were blessed with three beautiful daughters. Pam worked in many well known places, such as: Happy Jacks, Gibsons, Dales, The Walnut and Alumax where she became a manager in the packing department. While at Alumax, she met and fell in love with Tim Bonertz after being together for twenty years and they were married April 16, 2005. After Pam retired in 2003 from Alumax, she owned and operated Klay Korner with her daughter, Michelle.
Pam was extremely talented; her hobbies were her passions. She loved to be in her yard, spending countless hours making it perfect and then finish off with a cold beer on her patio, sitting back and enjoying her hard work! Pam could hunt and fish with the best of them, as well as play many sports such as softball, volleyball, racquetball and bowling. She taught her grandchildren anything from shooting a gun, arm wrestle and jitterbug. “Mom we hope you’re dancing now!
Cheryl, Kim and Michelle would like to thank our dad, Tim for loving our mom and a huge thank you to Tim’s mom, MaryAnn Bonertz, for all the care she did for mom.
Pam is survived by her husband, Tim; daughters, Chery Koch (Mike Hacecky) of Yankton, SD, Kim (Bryan) Highland of Yankton, SD and Michelle (Dave) Schieffer) of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Kline and Rick Kline, both from Yankton, SD and Kevin Kline of Arizona; sisters, Karen Denzin of Yankton, SD and Rita Speetzen of Custer, SD and mother-in-law, MaryAnn Bonertz.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dwain Kline and father-in-law, Allen Bonertz.
