At one time Marivonne and Bob owned and operated the Wolsey Café. While living in Miller, SD, Marivonne’s love of community was demonstrated through her involvement in the Catholic Church as a lector, CCD Teacher, President of the Altar Society, Funeral Committee Dinner Chair, and Bazaar Coordinator. Marivonne’s hobbies included fishing, bird-watching, flower gardening, and watching the Minnesota Twins and the Mount Marty College basketball games. She was well-known for her cooking, especially pie baking, and was often asked to cook for the Bishop and priests of the Miller, SD Catholic Deanery. Marivonne is survived by her five children: David (Everlyn) Wentzlaff of Maplewood, MN; Jane (John) Hohm of Freeman, SD; Sue (Steve) Lowe of Burnsville, MN; Brad (Mary) Wentzlaff of Grand Island, NE; and Sr. Maribeth Wentzlaff, OSB of Yankton, SD; in addition to 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Surviving in-laws include: Virginia Chrystal, Brainerd, MN; Geraldine Leonard, Nicollet, MN; and Shirley Peterson, Hudson, WI. Marivonne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2014; parents, Dewett and Leonora Olsen; sisters, Donna May and Coralyn; daughter-in-law, Gail Wentzlaff, in addition to precious children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren lost prior to birth.
